Garden & Kitchen Field Trips!

Hands-On Experience for kids age 5+ in our Kitchen and our Organic Garden Classroom! Learn to plant, care for gardens, harvest and compost, as well as cook your harvest on-site in our kitchen! Our field trips focus on educating students in a fun and welcoming environment, that is completely interactive. Our recipes are focused on “real” ingredients, with foods sourced from the garden (thus, local, organic and seasonal). Children cook and prepare the foods entirely themselves, in a collaborative environment that fosters knowledge of cooking skills (measuring, chopping, baking, pouring, grating).  The curriculum also addresses educational standards for science, math, history and nutrition (specialty curriculum available upon request).

Students (and teachers) eat their creations and leave our Field Trips energized, happy and excited about healthy food choices.

These trips are intended for school groups, Scout groups, Rotary/Kiwanis clubs, nonprofits, executive retreats, and large family groups.

 

PARTICIPANT ACTIVITIES:

1. Active gardening, planting, composting and harvesting.

2. Cooking lesson with local Chef or food professional (Amanda, from The Good Food Factory)

3. Environmental Education / Nutrition Activity

 

Maximum 30 Participants

Total Field Trip Time: 2 hours

PRICING:  Includes: Garden Activity, Food, Rental for the Center, Professional Instructors (kitchen & garden) and custom menu printouts. (Plus, set up and clean up).
$250 for up to 10 kids
$300 for up to 18 kids.
$350 for up to 25 kids.
$400 for up to 30 kids.
